• Join a Band Project Design
  • This is a backwards-planned project based learning design for a Modern Band classroom. The project invites students to form a band, select music based on their current level of skill and musical interest, and prepare at least the chorus of a song to perform for the class. The project features opportunities for student choice, deep musical analysis and thinking, and meaningful performance opportunities.
• Creative Process Guides
  • These forms were designed based on the National Core Arts Standards and provide reflection and deep thinking opportunities for students as they Select, Analyze, Interpret, Rehearse, Refine, and Perform music. These tools include supports and scaffolds for English Language Learners created in Constructing Meaning training.
